While the tea leaves are actually Chinese, Darjeeling is an Indian-grown tea (from, errr, Darjeeling) and because the flavor is so distinctly specific to their terroir, you aren’t allowed to use the name if it doesn’t come from the Darjeeling region. The leaves are chosen seasonally for its floral, sweet and lingering finish with musky-sweet tasting notes.
